Project 365: 179 - Preparing for Camp

Comments

We are so blessed to be surrounded with great people. We were fortunate to have gone camping over Memorial Day weekend and had an awesome time. But during the trip we decided due to some unexpected vet and doctor bills, and a couple of appliances that are on their last leg, an attic waiting for the finishing touches (carpet), that the financially responsible thing to do was to postpone any more camping trips until our budget was back to normal. We did camp quite a bit last year and cherished every moment of it. This past weekend Brenda's Aunt & Uncle brought down a receipt for a camp site at Linesville, Pymatuning for this coming holiday weekend, which they paid for. Blessed, I tell you!
This trip will be different, the kids are not coming. They are staying over at some friends for a couple of nights then over to their Grammy's for the remainder of the weekend. We celebrate 15 years of marriage on Thursday, so we will continue our celebration into the weekend.

I finally got in the mood to change up the blog. As the new theme is in place and appears to be working, there are always some loose ends that will be finalized as I have time. This will serve as a test post via my phone. The comments seem to be working, Disqus is currently working recovering previous comments that are somewhere in limbo....

So, tell me what you think of the new look. Have a great week!

Project 365: 164 - Holder

Comments

Project 365: 164 - Holder, originally uploaded by ninelives.1972.

Paper towel holder. Pretty boring, I know. Brenda and I had been looking for a pt holder for our family room kitchenette, but have either not liked the design or the price tag. Then I found this $5 gem at TJ Max. The only problem was Brenda was not with me.

**Insert technology and my geekness here**

I snapped this with my phone and emailed to her it via a text message, then called her to confirm that it was a winner, winner, chicken dinner. I <3 technology. Oh, and I love my wife.

Comment System Issues

Comments

Apparently I missed the fact that my comment system has not been working
since I changed to my custom domain. Details, Details...Its not like my
blog gets a ton of comments but, I dearly hope I did not miss any. I
think if you commented they should show up as soon as the great people
over at Disqus straighten things out.
Thanks for your patience.

I apologize for any of the kinks I have to work out, but I am working on them.

Thanks for visiting. Be looking for more videos. One regarding the next project "Hardwood Restoration" and some of summer activities. I will be archiving some photos I have stored on another server service over onto flickr. I may be posting some of the photos from the past. I cannot believe how much the girls have grown. I had to pull a photo from the archives of camping, it has just been
crazy busy here. With our carpet being installed in our family room on
Thursday and Friday, and yesterday I traveled with my dad over 500 miles
to Fairport, New York for a sweat deal. A $100 dollar Honda snow
blower. It was a great day, we were able to visit with a special friend
of my parent's and family. Thanks to Mr. Jim Mcguire, for lunch and frozed custard at Bill Grays. Thanks to Uncle Harry and Aunt Jean for the scanner. Thanks to Aunt Joyce and Uncle John for the awesome Strawberry Shortcake. Finally, Thanks Dad, for the great company. It was cool to see where my Dad lived as he was growing up and hearing some of the great stories of his life as a child and a young man.

Today, we have Church, the girls have a
birthday party to go to, and Brenda and I need to figure out some of the
fine details of how were are setting up this attic. I started the final
update on Attic Renovations and have to just add some clips of it
complete, and a final edit. So you can expect numerous posts to get the
blog caught back up for the Project 365 and the final video update on
this project. It feels good to be using this space we slaved over for
almost three years. Insert sigh of relief, while if I have time before
the next project consumes my every breath. I kid, have a blessed Sunday.

If you have read my blog, or follow me on twitter, or are one of my friends on Facebook. You know we went camping over this Memorial Weekend. This is a picture I took while I received a gift from my wife. A moment to just fish from our boat. Usually I drive the boat, fish, and help the girls with what they need since they are usually in the back of the boat. This was a very relaxing weekend, we rode bikes, fished, roasted marshmallows, made smores and mountain pies (camper pies), we laughed, we cried and we relaxed. We were so blessed with such a beautiful weekend to Rest & Relax.

What do you do as a family or by yourself to relax or rejuvenate? Go...
