Here are the girls on a train ride while on their mini vacation with Lori. It sounds like they are having a great time.
Here I am at work at Charlotte’s Presbyterian Hospital. The console was so big it filled the room and the only way to the connections behind it was over the top. Of course one of my buddies that worked there snapped the shot and gave it to me.
This week we were given the opportunity to review a DVD. A movie called The Grace Card, a compelling story, of a man, mad at the world and God for a tragic accident which killed his first born son. Mac, became a cop in attempt to prevent another tragedy from happening. With his faith challenged, his relationships falling apart and his career at a stand still, he is faced with the unimaginable, more challenges. He is shown grace in such an astounding way, that this very grace leads him to do the same in the end.
I give this movie 4 thumbs up out of 5, and would recommend it.
Here is some info regarding the movie:

For Week 25, we were going to go to a Nazarene church in Butler but we chose to have a little family time without worship. It was overall a great day. We accomplished quite a bit around the house with organizing and getting ready for the new school year, purging clothes and making lists of what clothes the girls needed. Brenda helps so much with getting things organized, she just has that gift.
for Week 26 we decided to remain close to home, and worshipped with a local Non-Denominational church that is currently in transition and meeting in old school’s gymnasium. First, I was moved(goose bumps) by the music, God’s presence was there, there was no doubt about it. Second, the message was given by a pastor I had heard speak before when the girls had taken part in their Vacation Bible School, I really like his style, he actually maintained my attention throughout his sermon. That my friend, is something that has been done by only a few speakers/Pastors. What can I say my mind tends to wander. The girls absolutely loved the kids program they had, which again, to please both of them is another feat in itself.

Today we set out to search for my Mother in Law's hunting dog, Sammy, he ran after some deer when she was out doing some practice runs for hunting. We drove a perimeter of where she thought he may be. She did all of the hard work in the woods. She finally did find him thirsty and tired. As we waited for them to come out of the woods this storm rolled in with some pretty impresive rolls of thunder and flashes of lightning.

Here we are with only 17 days left of summer vacation, boating at Shanango River Lake with my father-in-law and his girlfriend, Brenda.
We had an awesome time.

I thought it was pretty cool to see what was popular back then.
The second line really got my attention, no Google. Wow…
I really don’t care for yahoo, so you can have it. But Google,?? How did we survive with out it for so many years????? :-)
Go check out your birth year, and answer the question below.
What grabbed your attention, about your birth year?
Together the girls and I went to the Denny's in Cranberry for our annual end of summer vacation Milk Shakes. These were about the only smiles we had. A disappointment is what our experience summed up to. We will have to find a better shake for next year to continue our tradition. Sounds like a good excuse to try several milk shakes at different establishments. Dear Denny's, we will not be back.

Taken at some friends house in PA, during on of our numerous visits home from NC. I remember someone at work telling me, “at some point all of these trips north to “home” are going to have to stop, this is your home now”. He could not have been anymore wrong, the trips stopped as soon as we made the final one, our move “HOME”. Don’t get me wrong we liked it down there in North Carolina, and made some lifelong friends that we miss and don’t get to see near often enough, but it was not our home, and we knew that all along.
For this week we didn't travel far, a visit to a local Presbyterian church enabled us to hear our pastor that retired over a year ago from our home church, VPC, preach it once again. How we miss him and his lovely wife. It was a great service, we chose the contemporary service, the music was wonderful, and the message was inspiring. It was so wonderful to see and catch up with him. The church we attended is also the church of the preschool both of our girls attended. It’s always nice to see familiar faces in a place of worship. For week 25 we will be doing an urban Nazarene campus to the north of where we live. Big Butler, here we come!

Brenda and I were talking a few months ago, posting all of these photos from the archive in this years Project 365, has really brought back some memories of the girls that seem like they happened just yesterday. Time really does fly, we were calculating how many years I have been out of the “work force”. I had a hard time believing that it has been almost eight years since, I took the best job I could ever have, as a stay at home dad. I knew what I was getting myself into. Sure I imagined we would spend lots of time out and about, at the playground, maybe even the pool. I also knew that it would be a ton of work as well. Little did I know, this would be the most challenging and rewarding job I had ever taken. Time has flown these past seven years while I have been a stay at home dad.
When I am asked what I do for a living, I state that I am stay at home dad, I usually get asked “Are you out of work???” I kindly reply, “No, we made this decision almost eight years ago, willingly.” Most men, look at me like I’m speaking a different language and are probably thinking “Why???”. Most women will say “That’s great!” but I bet they walk away thinking “Their house is probably messy and laundry is piled up to the ceiling.” Neither is the case, but it’s all good, I don’t really care what people think, Brenda and I are comfortable with the choices we have made, but more over we are thankful to God for the many opportunities he has provided us and the grace he has shown us. With out Him this all would be for not…
So her I am taking my hat off to any stay at home/single parent. This has been such an awesome opportunity, to bond with my girls and provide for my family. I would not know how I would do it without the strength from my loving wife, Brenda and God.
If I had to do this all over. I would do it again and again and again. I love my family!! Thank You God!!
What is it that makes you realize time is flying?
What are you thankful for?
Go!!

This week we traveled to the North and visited a Church of God on Main Street. This is the church I attended regularly as a teen, in the youth group and on Sundays with my parents. The building has not changed much, but I only saw a few people I recognized. During this adventure, I have noticed a few things are the same no matter what church you attend. Summer = Skeleton crew. This church even made mention that they were short a few musicians. The music was rocky to start but by the middle of the first song, it sounded great, and the lead singer did a guitar solo for the offertory that was simply amazing. They shared some testimony on a recent missions trip that a group had attended, which was inspiring. The pastor’s message was good, but a little dry. We enjoyed our visit and look forward to this next week in our adventure, we will be visiting a local church where a Pastor from our past is preaching. It will be nice to hear a message through him once again.
