Christmas Trees 2011

Comments

This year is our first year to have two Christmas trees up at the same time. Two years ago we were in the finishing stages of our attic to family room renovations, and last year our downstairs was all ripped apart while I was restoring our hard-wood floors. It took us an entire day as a family to decorate. It was a bit of work, but it was definitely worth it. It’s mood changing, in a positive. Getting all of the outside lights up and pulling out the decorations which we have acquired during the fifteen years of our marriage, and some handed down from generations before. If you follow my news/timeline on facebook or twitter, I mentioned this week that even a neighbor stopped us as we leaving in our van, and said “I’m glad scrooge left and your are back!” this was in response to our outside lights being put up again. I think It has been like three or four years since we had done them. Every year it seemed we were knee deep in renovations, and the last thing I wanted was to be bothered with hanging or maintaining lights that were not absolutely necessary. This year our powder room/master bathroom is just about ready to start, I can’t wait until it is done.

So here are the trees in all of their glory, the first one is the living room tree, It’s nine foot Wal-Mart special and the ornaments here are hand picked by Brenda, mostly.

The second tree is in our Attic/Family room, It is a six foot Wal-mart special and is densely populated with a lot of our hand made ornaments that have been passed down from our generations and some before us.
