Georgie and Bridget did not make it to ring in the New Year. It is debatable as to whether or not Bethany, Brenda and I will make it either. Just a half hour to go. There had been many years that I manage to stay up to the last ten minutes and then fall fast asleep to miss the drop….oh well, whether I see it or not it will come. Happy New Year to everyone that checks our this corner of the web I call my blog. A special thanks to all of you who have visited, commented either online or in person on this Project 365 of mine. I have enjoyed doing it and look forward to next years project, Oldies but Goodies.
I decided I would start a new project for 2011. This project will consist of a shot a day posted from the archives. I have hundreds of discs with thousands of images on them. It will be fun to pick up some oldies but goodies. Look for my first post on the first of the year.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoying my Project 365 for this year, 2010.
Bethany got her ear pierced the other day, as a Christmas present from us. I will have one of the finished product, when she gives me permission. Apparently they won’t look right for a couple of days.
So the girls received a Wii Fit and of course if you watch my facebook or follow me on twitter you know they both got iPod touches with money they both saved from their Birthday’s and Christmas.
I honestly am not liking what the Wii Fit is telling me. According to it, I am overweight. This is no surprise to me, I do eat everything in sight. Just by chance, the girls downloaded an app for their iPod’s called iFaceFat. This app takes a picture of a person and makes the person look fat. The name of it explains itself, I’m not sure why I felt the need the explain it. So iFaceFat in a round about way showed me what I may look like if I continue to eat everything in sight. Insert picture here:
And to recap the Wii Fit told me I’m fat. So the end result is a video my daughter took of me with her iPod, while I did a little something to get fit. Insert video here:
Now, do I think this did anything but give my family a little laugh, no. But maybe I will reinstate the lifechange portion of the blog, that I abandoned quite a while ago. Just a thought.
Thanks for visiting my blog and have a blessed day.
A picture of my homemade cinnamon rolls before I bake them. I prep four pans of these delicious rolls and leave them in the refrigerator until we are hungry for them. I leave them out for 30 minutes and then throw them into the 400 degree oven for 15 minutes and then everyone is happy!!!!
This is our new Christmas Tree, we purchased it for our family room (attic). Being the downstairs is all torn up and the floors are waiting to be sanded, we only decorated in the family room. I like the tree, it was a Black Friday find for $30.
This is our first home. It’s location is in Harrisville, PA. We purchased it a month before we got married Fifteen and a half years ago, and had some wonderful ideas to do to it. But ended up only doing a few things to it during the five years we lived in it. We replaced both front and back porch roofs and remodeled a spare room. We miss that front porch.
I took this shot today in the snow during my travels to Grove City for some annual Christmas ornaments from Wendall August Forge.
I was dropping some construction debris off at my Brother-in-law’s dumpster that resides at my Mother-in-law’s house and found my self in blizzard like conditions. I could barely see the drive way as I exited it. Then as I reached the end of the drive way the sun blasted through as it was still snowing and blowing. I captured the moment with my phone and it did a pretty good job, you can see the shadow of the tree, and the blowing of the grass on the right and the big old snow flakes in the air. I’ll end with this, I’d rather be camping…..
About a week ago I received a tool from Husky Tools to review here on my blog. I received the Husky 13 Piece POWERTEK Precision Screwdriver Set.
This little screwdriver is slick. I can’t get over how thin it is, saying that it is compact does not do it justice. I have used to open the battery compartments on some of the girls energy devouring devices and played around with it installing switch and outlet covers. Again, it is real easy to handle and use. It comes with these bits: phillips #0, #1, slotted #2, #3, #4 torx #20, #15, #10, #8, and allen #4, #3, #2.
I appreciate the fact that it has its own case, which gives all the little bits a home. It operates on two AAA batteries that are included when you purchase it.
This unit as most of Husky's tools has a lifetime warranty. This unit sells for $9.98 at Home Depot. Here is the link if you’re interested: http://goo.gl/gSWRj
In short here are some positives and negatives from my point of view:
Positives:
Very Compact
Easy to use
Great carrying case with bit storage
Decent battery life
It’s inexpensive
Lifetime Warranty
Negatives:
It is not rechargeable
Summary of Review:
Features 4.0 stars
Value 5.0 stars
Design 4.0 stars
Quality 4.5 stars
Durability 4.5 stars
Total 4.4 stars

You too, can get 50 free prints from snapfish.com. Even the shipping is free. Sweet! You can actually directly import photos from you flickr.com account.
They do require you to give them a credit card number, but to my knowledge there is no annual membership fee, you only pay for what you print, unless you get great free coupon codes…
As we waited at the bus stop yesterday morning, a snow flake fell on my van’s door. I switched my camera phone to macro, focused and as I snapped the shutter and waited for “the mobile delay” a second smaller one fell right below it. The girls were excited to be able to see the detail in the snow flakes. I was excited to have one more photo to add to my project.
Bryan and Katie Whittington, Brenda’s cousin and wife, need our help. The following is an email that they passed on to us and I forward to you. Thanks for spreading the word and helping the Whittington’s. Here is the email:
Dear Friends and Family, In February of this year Bryan and I started the process to adopt again. Two years earlier we had been doubly blessed with Aaron and Abryanna and were thrilled to add yet again to our family this way. Imagine our surprise when 6 weeks after our home study visit we received a call letting us know that we had a 6 week old boy. Elijah had been born February 23rd, just one day after our home study had been updated. We scrambled to get things ready, brought him home and through the help of our friends and lots and lots of prayer we had all of our money for the placement fee. God showed us in more ways than we can imagine his provision and love through this adoption.
Elijah's adoption is set to be finalized on December 23rd. This is wonderful news since originally we were looking at sometime in March or April. However, this means we are looking to come up with our adoption fees several months sooner than anticipated. Bryan and I would like to know if you would consider doing one or any of the following:
PRAY, we need all the prayers we can get right now. Pray that the adoption goes through as planned, pray that the Lord will provide all the necessary funding, pray for Bryan to get full-time employment as he lost his job two weeks ago and pray for the birth mother and the selfless sacrifice she made.
Consider buying a Wild Olives adoption t-shirt. We are so excited that Wild Olives Tees has allowed us to participate in their fundraiser. Between 12/01/2010 and 12/29/2010 if you purchase an adoption t-shirt through Wild Olive Tees and enter the coupon code we receive $7.50 from every shirt purchased with our family code. If we sell over 50 we receive $10.00 from every shirt. They will keep track of our sales and at the end they will send us a check towards our adoption.
Please send this to anyone that you know that might consider buying a t-shirt with our code or that would also send it to their friends and family, post it on your blog, or post on facebook.
Thank you from the bottom of our heart. We hope that you have a blessed Christmas!
In His Love, Katie and Bryan Whittington
If you will be ordering a shirt please use this link and information from Wild Olive Tees
Family Code: WHITTINGTON1203 Wild Olive adoption tees have been created as a means to help families fundraise for their impending adoption. Our goal is to partner with adoptive families to help them gain support from friends and family to offset the cost of their adoption, and in turn, help bring children home to their forever families! These tees are available to anyone for purchase. However, if you have been given a FAMILY CODE by family or friends as a way to help support their fundraising efforts, please enter it during checkout in BOTH the “Enter Coupon” field (by clicking the "Enter Coupon" button on the left inside your cart), as well as the Comments section. This way, the family you are supporting is properly credited for your purchase. The family code must be entered to ensure that the funds go to the correct family. Please note: the FAMILY CODE will not reduce the price of the tee; it will simply ensure that the proper family receives the funds from your purchase. Adoption fundraiser tees are not eligible for discounts.
